Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix showed a flair for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first trial she took, she was ranked second in 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003 signed an agreement with Adidas. Then she attended at the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. She set the Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 second. Felix was also the youngest participant in the 200 meters during the World Championships held in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, beating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her events.
